How to create a contract

To get started, go to “Settings” and tap on “Contracts”. Tap + > Add contracts from defaults.

You will be able to view and select from a list of pre-loaded, industry standard default contracts that you can add to your account. Tap on the “+” in the top right corner. Tap “Create a contract”.

Now you can begin customizing the contents of your contract. Tap “Name” to begin writing the name of the contract.

If you would like the client to be required to fill out this contract with any transaction it is attached to, toggle “Always require”.

To customize the contract body, tap on “Contract body”. The contract body should consist of the terms and conditions that you would like the client to agree to.

If you would like to sign the contract yourself, tap “Signature”. Draw your signature and tap “Done” when you are finished.

If you would like to preview the contract before saving it, tap “Preview contract”. This is how the contract will appear to clients in PDF form. Once you are satisfied with your settings, tap “Save”.

The contract will reside on your contract list and can be referred to at any other time.

Making your contracts look professional

PocketSuite’s Contracts feature allows you to format your contract’s body by providing access to different scripts and methods of pulling in client and company information.

PocketSuite provides you with commands to italicize, bolden, and underline any sections of your contract’s body as you normally would on another document. The commands are as follows:

  • Italics: Write what you want here → Write what you want here
  • Bold: Write what you want here → Write what you want here
  • Underline Write what you want here → Write what you want here

Using the examples above, this is their implementation in a contract.

These commands can also be mixed and matched to combine their effects! For example: Write what you want here → Write what you want here

Another tool available to you in customizing your contracts are Dynamic Fields. Dynamic Fields are built-in commands to PocketSuite that automatically insert specific data into a contract. Dynamic Fields are especially useful when you want to use specific names, titles, or subjects without having to rewrite contracts.

For example, if you wanted to autofill the client’s name in a contract, you could use the dynamic field {name}.

{name} would then be auto filled by the client's name upon them receiving the contract. You can also add commands to dynamic fields to change their formatting!

Note: See here for a complete list of dynamic fields. See here for a list of custom dynamic fields.

Using and accessing industry-standard contracts

PocketSuite provides you with contracts tailored to the needs and functions of your business’ industry. To begin, tap on “Contracts” in “Settings” and tap on “+” in the top right corner.

Tap on “Add contract from defaults”. Select the contracts you would like to add to your toolkit.

PocketSuite also lets you access contracts from different industries to add to your toolkit. To do so, tap on “Business” in “Settings”.
